The motor is good. Have you had a look at the Commercial 19'' SP? Motor choice Honda or B+S Vanguard. None of them have a 1,2,3 gearbox it,s just sqeeze and go. Mine is hard to keep up with  :)

Can you "slip" the drive Drew? - hold the lever part way in for a slower speed like the hydro drive on the 217.

Yeah no probs Croc. I made up a ''1st gear'' just a piece of wire bent at either end, just keep forgetting about it.

Already had a b&s on a procut 50 stuff up. Even with treating it right. So warranty, to me, is important.

I bought a Honda 435 on Gumtree and when I got there the guy had a Toro 22" personal pace for sale in very good nick - was tempted but held off went home and Googled it - the B&S engine on it has a fantastic new feature called "Check and Top Up" - no oil changes needed for the life of the engine!! - glad I didn't buy the thing on impulse.

As in Harley Davidson? - can't see how it's a step forward anyway - How hard is it to drop the oil on something  - suggests the whole thing is made to last a few seasons for a homeowner and then chuck it away.

Used the Honda UMK435 today - so much more grunt than the 425 -  and not that heavy.

Difference being the procut comes from China while the Vanguard is their Top of the Line motor.
