bought a 2nd hand 7x5 gal trailer in Sydney last week, paid a grand, it's a solid unit made by Sales Trailers.

added a cage today

bought a 3m length of 75x75 gal angle that l'm going to attempt to notch and bend for a mower pad on the front with a floor of thin checkerplate.....and get a mesh ramp fab'ed up for the ride ons

great buy.

Ive used my old single axle trailer for years..doesnt shake around at all..Loaded or unloaded, highway or not. If it did I wouldn't use one as the country roads here are fast, narrow and winding.

we are going battery power, but taking baby steps

Softly softly catchee monkey

I have only used dual axle for heavy stuff, dont own one now. For all my daily stuff it,s always been singla axle.

My apologies to all.

She said she was referring to the cage wearing out the hinges, lock pins, mounting points etc, not the trailer itself.

Edit: she tows a single axle but it is well braced.

mower pad on the front with a floor of thin checkerplate...

I suggest galv expanded steel mesh instead of checker plate.

1. Less slippery

2. all the clippings fall through

3. Literally 100's of tie down points

4. Mower wheel, broom and boot cleaner

and more but i'll leave it to everyones imagination

edit: another good reason for the corrugated mesh is the turbulent under deck airflow created while driving between jobs. Better drying, blows at least some percentage of the weed seeds away and never get puddles of green tea.

pretty well finished today, need to slap on a heap of cold gal and fit latches - its a heavy SOB so will definitely need horse float ramp springs fitted

Looking good, ramps a good length, just curious why angle for the end that drags on the ground when you forget to pick it up instead of box?

it is all it needed, with either upright end cut at 45deg the edge is basically on the ground, so no hump to get over.....also less weight

Looking good

if it is not too late spend the xtra $ on these

Attached File  IMG_1141.jpg   50.22KB   1 downloads

clamps it down tight and stops it all wearing away and rattling

EDIT: I don't know where to get them, my trailer bloke (U Beaut Trailers, Seaford, Vic) fitted them after I asked for over engineered, tough spring loaded clamp latches.
