When I purchased mine I test drove all makes in its class and found the isuzu ticked all the boxes for me.

I'd advise test driving and taking your time don't rush into it. I went to kenards hire and hired One for a week to see how it would work for me before I commited to buying one

One thing you might find is being a cab over truck it does ride hard and rough so a aftermarket drivers seat may be In order.

suspension seats need adjusting for your weight, they should be going up and down easy as you bounce on them.

For the slight difference in kerb weight i would go Isuzu, only because i used to sell them  :) Never had much to do with Hino. Japanese trucks are all pretty good.

the three way isuzu tipper is unreal it has a smaller pay load compared to the traditional tipper. But great if you are towing a trailer because you have the flexibility of leaving the trailer on and tipping.

my last hilux was a 2 way tipper but the only down side was it had little tray space and not suitable for my line of work.  i do miss the old girl when i have a truck load of green waste to unload on a friday arvo lolAttached File  IMG_20170211_093553.jpg   60.74KB   1 downloadsAttached File  IMG_20170211_093817 (1).jpg   64.83KB   1 downloads

5 months in, hows it going ?

Did you build up the sides or leave them stock ?

Obviously you use the truck to tow but, do you use the tipper for mainly green waste or hard landscape materials ?

AMT or manual ?

What rpm at 100kph ?

Cheers Fred.

Thanx Smokey.

My T4000 turns about 2650rpm at 100kph.

Would much prefer if it turned about 2200rpm/100kph.

Suppose they are geared for hauling weight rather than highway cruising.

My BT50 turns 1750rpm at 100kph .........hharrrrrr ..............  B)

Cheers Fred.

Yep gota love modern utes i miss my lux lol running larger tyres will reduce the revs.

Im up for new tyres soon so im going larger alloy rims and tyres. Did the same on the lux it made a big difference with revs at highway speed.
