Hi All,

Been a while in the planning but it's on:-

Where:- https://www.tradetoo.../coopers-plains

When:- Thursday 7 Sept - the time is to be confirmed but I'm thinking 10am to allow us to avoid peak hour? - let me know otherwise and we'll agree on a time[/

You can see from this Google shot:-

https://goo.gl/maps/rNkXyDE5Xey

that there's a fair bit of hedge and grass to play around with out the front and the manager of Trade Tools will try to make sure it is not mowed between now and then - but if there's a problem with that, there's plenty of safe verge area dead end street on the edge of bush 5 mins away:-

https://goo.gl/maps/hvw24Bi8w232

and they're fine with taking gear down there to test.

[u]So, could everyone who's coming re-confirm here and indicate if there's any problem with suggested time and we'll go from there.

Cheers

Fred

I see the rep (or at the least the address Croc posted is Melbourne/Vic based)

Croc, I wish I could attend!

Let the rep (John?) know that some of us are keen down here in Vic as well.

My main question is bulk buy on battery packs, retail one at a time is a joke for contractors, they should come in 'discounted bulk packs' and if that could be done 'EGO' may well win the first battle in the upcoming 'who gets the bulk of the contractors' war.

I will add that Husq, Stihl, Victa and others already have a foot in the door but seem to treat it as a 'toe in the water'.

…also I hope that John the Ego rep follows this forum, more good than harm in that me thinks  :)

Questions for the Tradetools Ego day:-

  1. Bulk pricing for batteries without the need to buy the kit and deal with unwanted chargers
  2. commercial warranty - detail on what's covered/excluded and how long
  3. motor sealing against dust/water ingress - IP rating? - transport conditions? - warranty?
  4. High lift blade listed on website - fits which models?
  5. plastic vs steel deck - how durable - (the HRX has definitely proved itself to me so maybe we don't need to lose 1" cut, pay $100 more and push an extra KG or 2?
  6. Cost of consumables applying to commercial use - gearbox, wheels, cables
  7. Quality of construction - (add your specific questions here - ie wheel bearings or bushes etc - details of drive engineering)

Add your questions to the end of this with a cut and paste into your post.

Cheers

I advised Jason to create an account and apply for a business membership but haven't seen anything yet - I'll prompt him when I call him

I suggested he do that way back on July 22nd, noticed nothing happened.

Sounds good Steve, I'll attempt to get some good timber to try the saws on as I'm interested. Shame they cannot water the lawns Croc, and hats off to you for organising this day. I'm sure Grae will get it going down there too. :)

Soft/Hard still gotta cut em. Watched some guys cutting hard wood greenhart with a ''band saw'' type thing. They get 20 odd mins out of a blade, cutting soft woods 2-3 weeks, big difference

I'll see what it's fitted with, it could be 5/32 being a little thing but we shall see.

I'm thinking about the water angle John - I'm going to drive past tomorrow and see how long the verge is - I've got a couple of 30M hoses so, if there's a tap somewhere out the front of the building I'll clear it with the manager to put a bit of water on it early Thursday morning.

Thanks for organising Croc, I initially showed interest but won't make it. Looking forward to the feedback.
