Trailer Lights & Kit (Ark Ezi-Connect Wiring Harness Kit)
#1

Hi All,

I just wanted to share with you all some great customer service I received from the Ark Corporation, but before all that let me tell you the story.

So I stupidly forgot to lock the tow-ball down on to my vehicle before I drove off, luckily the safety chain was connected however it was longer then the slack of my wiring subsequently ripping out the wiring. As this was an ezi-connect wiring harness it connects in stages so I only required the first section of cord not the whole kit. (Around $95).

I phoned up Ark Corp, spoke to the bloke there, he was more than happy to send me one via post. Saved me a lot of time and a lot of money.

Also these kits are brilliant for anyone that doesn't like messing around with hot soldering irons, click and connect and away you go. I highly recommend them!!

FYI - I'm not sponsored by Ark.

Thanks for reading.

Cant help myself hereā€¦

wiring connector cable length should exceed 'tow on chain' length

trailer connector terminals are almost always wire into a socket with a screw down

Old fashioned basic 5 wire trailer colour standards were

Red = Brake

Brown = Tail, Clearance and Rego plate

Yellow = Left flash

Green = Right flash

White = Earth

7 wires gave extras like

electric on/off actuated brakes (usually blue)

dedicated reverse lights/beeper (usually black)

auxiliary power etc may have used blue or black if not required for brakes or back up

this might help

Hi Grae,

Yes... we all know what we "Should" do.. however sometimes it doesn't always happen that way. My inattention was the cause of the damage in the first place. I appreciate your advice on the trailer wiring however my aim was not to rewire, solder, worry about which coloured wires go where, etc. simply sharing with everyone how great these plug and play wiring systems are and how Ark look after their customers.
