Just had this happen today.

Now I'm known as fat boy blue

It sounded like a bomb going off, anyone else got a story to tell.

I'm actually lucky the plastic shrapnel missed me.

Wow, never happened to me.

Stuck pressure release valve or impact damage?

Major extinction event wherever that load splashed down!

Hope you hosed it until it was super dilute.

EDIT:

In my FNQ days I had one of those blue 20L backpacks with the yellow lid where the plastic disintegrated over night in the shed (just glypho and water, but cräp plastic).

Never had one let go on me like that Bakes - If the sprayer had a few years on it and was kept on the back of the ute/trailer I'm thinking possible UV damage to the plastic making it brittle and liable to shatter like this - I keep my 8ltr Silvan in the cab with me with a plastic bag over it.
