Any idea what the transaction fees are Colsy? - I've started taking Paypal payments and I get $58.14 for a $60 job - if the client is reliable I'd rather they just did a bank transfer but I have had to remind a few recently.

They are about the same as that mate.

Generally I take EFT but have the odd customer that could only do credit card. So I only use it for about 5% of my clients and I cover it in the original quote.

I have been pestering a tattooist mate of mine to get one of these. He is constantly whinging about people making bookings and not turning up.  I keep telling him he can take deposits over the phone and at least re coup something from a no show. Its like he thinks that its against the Tattooist code to take anything but cash or something.

Ive never been asked if I take CC and feel as an industry we should band together and not take it. People were accustomed and trained to leave out cash. What happened?

I only get asked cash or direct deposit. Direct deposit is what happened in most cases but never fear soon there will be NO cash.

Think that sounds really off, some countries are just about there and the banks etc love it.

The more people accept the direct deposit/credit card the quicker it,ll get here.

I love cash (I've got 90 thousand pounds in my pyjamas) - but as my clients get younger it's more likely that they'll ask to do bank transfer from their phones - Paywave has taken over from cash for them I think.

One of my better clients ( BP ) wants all their contractors to fill out all this mumbo jumbo paperwork ( to make life easier for all ) but my local guy said he can pay by credit card so i am wondering how this CC reader is working out for those who use it. In my case it,ll mean i have to buy a newish phone to use the reader.
