Buying Lawn Care Business How To Of The Internet
#1

Has anyone looked at the various how to start/run a lawn care business stuff for sale on the net?

There is one who calls himself Gopherhaul blog. Has a book for sale.

Another one is Daniel Pepper Successful Lawn Care Strategies........has a whole lot of stuff you can down load for $49. I have heard a few of his podcasts and he seems to talk sense.

So was just wondering if anyone has bought or looked at these sites?...and what do you think?

My NEIS course starts this month but I itching to get going ..I already had a job from one lady just by mentioning what I was doing......turned into a nice $495 job. She then recomended me to a friend of hers and I got a little $265 job out of that too.

I have some nice adverts I have placed in the local Foodland and other community boards with no luck........accept I saw a competetor had removed mine !!!! I promptly went back with another ad. A few days later I saw the ad was still there but he/she had taken all the pull off and call tabs!

I laugh because this person must be seriosly battling to get work if he has to resort to being so low.

Cheers

Keith in Adelaide

I reckon I'd save the money Keith. I reckon everything you need to know is on this forum if you trawl through it - apart from that find yourself a good accountant and take their advice re the business setup/legal  side of things. Just my 2c worth.

Mate there is a 'Lawn Bible' - thats what i call it. Its called Scotts Lawns its a book from Scotts Lawncare website.
Its all about lawns and not starting a business but covers all the basics in depth. It will definately keep you out of trouble. Everything from seeding turfing pest diseases weeds watering fertilizing mowing etc etc. A good go to book to keep in the ute.

Just on that point CG, I've tried to join many times but the registration link doesn't work for me - I thought maybe they weren't taking new members?

One of you guys should do a video blog on YouTube on how to start/run a lawn care business from an Australian perspective. That would be awesome and invaluable to new guys.

Thanks everyone for all the great advice.

I will be getting the "Lawn Bible"......

Definatley will be using an accountant

And yes..this forum has helped me heaps....great confidence booster. Nice to be on a forum where there's no back biting and everyone helps each other.....not including The dog poo picker upper advert!! lol

NEIS course starts soon...seems they are HUGE on the "Business Plan " part. Oh, also you have to be insured...no ifs or buts, if you dont keep up your payments they cut you off instantly . Will keep you all posted
