I've had this patch of Sir Walter that loses all it's colour on and off for over 2 years.  It's literally losing it's green and turning white, always in the same area of lawn.  The problem can spread 5m or so, then, suddenly right itself and be fine for a few weeks, although in the very corner it always struggles and you can see in the pic the grass has died and clover is growing.

It's not lack of water or sun, I've tried fertilizer, grub spray and a grass fungaside non of which seems to work.  My feeling is a fungal disease however googling the problem comes up with really nothing.

On the lawns I mow I have seen small patches like this from time to time, it's really got me stumped .

Hi Plucka,

Irene or another lady whose name I forget at Jimboomba Turf have been very helpful to me. Very generous with time and information and, as they grow, supply and lay Sir Walter, they may be best able to help

Nah, it was happening before the glass was there, also have another 15m of lawn next to the glass which is not affected.

power of Hydrogen (pH)

Hydrogen atoms (yep the smallest of them all) do all the work

grass will grow on a small pile of dirt on concrete or in the depression of a boulder or in cracks in bituminous roads without anyone adjusting the fertiliser.

http://hyperphysics....hemical/ph.html

AND

pH makes the difference - not just for plants, but for all organic life

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soil_pH

the following is a selected cut and paste (but highlighted by me) from the wiki link above

…Soil pH is considered a master variable in soils as it affects many chemical processes. It specifically affects plant nutrient availability by controlling the chemical forms of the different nutrients and influencing the chemical reactions they undergo

water is the major solvent and transport media for most terrestrial organic life processes

While I'm apologising…

when I originally posted to this topic it was to ask the question, is there a pool nearby?

Grass prefers not to have to deal with salt chlorinated water

often from filter backwash overflow or just kids being kids

Edit: also leaks in underground filter plumbing and cracks in concrete pools
