Spring Shopping List And The Big Corner Block Dump
#1

Well a bit of rain here at last - had thoughts of leaving the game but I'd like to hang in for another season or two - if nothing else I love buying new gear :) - so the spring shopping list for me is:-

  1. HRX217 - to replace the original that has given me 3 mainly reliable seasons - if it hadn't been so reliable I would have gone for the heavier HRU216 - I'll have the snorkel I got swapped over and pick up a mesh bag from boats.net.
  2. Honda UMK425 - to replace my current one and run the third item:-
  3. Edgit pro - plan on tidying up overgrown edges with the Atom edger and using one of these to get neat vertical edges FAST next season.

What's on your shopping list for this season?

And I seem to be a corner block magnet and have accumulated a dozen or so that will never pay their way so they're up for the chop. 5 gone tonight and the rest over the weekend.

and then get back to gardens

I find it's the drain on an older body Grae - short bursts of work with a bit of recovery time and staminade in the ute between jobs works for me - 2 corners at $65 equals 4 regulars at $50 - I've never got a corner quote more than $70 in my patch anyway so they're off my list

Zero chance I will ever work in a cube farm again Grae - and so much research backs up what a stupid idea it is:-

you will love the Edgit pro once you get used to it ...   I never use my Atom anymore...  The quality of the cut edge with the Edgit is amazing ....and so fast !

My spring purchase was the 216 I just bought,,....  I have some tough lawns...hills and big blocks...I was

getting home at the end of the day absolutely wreaked, with my 196 push....

hopefully the 216 will make life easier

Oh, you're gunna love the 216 then Ando - I was pretty skeptical when I first came on the forum and, like you I used a 196 or 195 - then, a while after I bought and got used to a self propelled, I had to use the 196 again for a couple of days - bl00dy near died

I believe he's posted it's a UMK425 - and that the kit for a Stihl FS130 fits it.

Some kind of inverter set up for charging in the car
Probably a petrol hedger, only having a battery one feels a bit open to failure.

yeah, good idea to have some redundancy.  I run the Husqvarna Battery trimmer but have the Stihl petrol in the trailer just in case. Husky has been perfect though - touch wood.

For me it is a new Mowmaster 26 inch high cut with a split rear roller due to be delivered on Thursday. I am over wrestling  the 30inch single clutch MEY. Thanks to Ando I will be ordering an edgit pro this week as well.
