Springtime i have a pub meal 3+ days a week, anything of the special board from $6 to $12 including a massive salad bar.
I would like to even if only for the reason of supporting a fading culture.
However way too many anecdotals and actual Court reads of fellas
getting done after a lunch.
Then there is the taboo topic, smoking.
The bloke sitting on the stool, durrie hanging on the bottom lip, knarled
hand wrapped around a schooner with tide lines marking his talk speed,
gone. That was my Dad, it was me.. until they closed the doors, turned
on the A/C , tuned up the music and finally...banned smoking.
As you might surmise... I havn't been into a pub in years.
Many thousands with me on that.
And on the brighter side?
I am healthier for it, have a home life with family, and not the publican,
and enjoy my smoke with no nannys frowning :-)
OH...I forgot, they changed the beer too!
I can remember when it was illegal to brew your own above 2%
and corner-stores (chinese) sold 2% 'softdrink'... it is a rort charging
full fare for the g*ns p*ss marketed today as beer!!
Consequently it is rare to find a can in our fridges these days.
Got nothing against folks "doing maccas"... I do smile though when
the health gurus get their bellow up on an obesity epidemic after
scoffing a plate of Thai
