I had a quick gander at this today at the Stihl shop. $1100 was the tag which seems well priced for a SP. Seemed to have a larger shoot than the Honda. The 800 series motor that we seem to like. Nice big wide wheels with good tread pattern. No blade brake which is a bummer

Anyone else had a look or a play? .

No blade brake is a deal breaker for me now - never thought I'd say that.

Yeah, I was distracted the other day - forgot to disengage blades - lifted flap - unhooked catcher - facefull of chaff - it's gold in these dry conditions we're having here.

I couldn’t own something that can’t drive without the blades going, landscapers love the 25mm stones down the side of the house in the subdivision

dealer steered a m8 towards the silver series He said there are a few issuse still to get sorted with the commercial model gearbox.   The  silver series 800 AL S21 3'n1 SPV IC  is lighter and my m8 had no issues in 3 months he does 50 plus a week and takes on overgrown with it.  looks a ok mower but part are not cheap, only early days.

That model wasn't on the floor. They look the goods. Shame about the problems. Ive had a couple of the early Masports and it would take some persuasion for me to buy another. It looks like it will pick up better than the Honda to.

I love the blade brake on my 216 - 196.
I wouldn’t own a commercial mower without it.

As soon as someone comes up with a better unit than the Honda... I’ll buy it
